Bison Pound Peru State Again

Two days after scoring 24 runs on Peru State, the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist racked up another 21 runs in a 21-8 win over the Bobcats Friday.

The Bison drove out four home runs on the day.

Down 1-0, OBU scored three times in the bottom of the first on a three-run home run by Frankie Ibarra.

Peru State scored five times in the second and one in the third for a 7-3 lead, but the Bison scored five times in the third on a two-run double by John Mowrey, and RBI singles by Kip Keith and Alex Schenck.

The Bobcats tied the game in the fourth, but the Bison put an end to the drama with a 10-run bottom of the fourth that included grand slams by Mowrey and Adam Dalby and a two-run home run by Rett Terrell.

The Bison added a run in the fifth on an RBI single by Justin Ard and two more in the sixth on an RBI double by Terrell and an RBI single by Brad Miller.

Danny Ruberte picked up the win in relief to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The Bison, in winning their ninth game in a row, improved to 15-3 on the season. They return to Sooner Athletic Conference action Saturday with a doubleheader at Southern Nazarene.
